The First Lebanese Super-Car

Lebanese designer David Frem long announced he will create a super-car better than a Ferrari, but it was just bull.While the Frem F1 might not be the ugliest car in the world, it’s definitely not a looker either. The car’s design could have been better,especially in the front, but the F1 suffers a lot in the interior department. No real styling at all, just foam and cardboard, and I’d say Ferrari does interiors a little better than that.

In terms of performance Ferm’s puppy better keep its head down in front of a Ferrari beast. It’s powered by 2.0 Wolkswagen engine, connected to an Audi gear-box, that pushes the car to a maximum speed of 124mph.

Lebannon may have its first super-car, but instead of testing it against a Ferrari they might want to try an easier opponent, like the Marussia, Russia’s first super-car.

The Pet Mini

It’s cute, it’s furry and no, it doesn’t make 500 babies a year…it runs pretty smooth though.It’s not a real pet, although it’s really called the Pet Mini, this cute little thing is all covered with real cow skin. It was the idea of Mini Switzerland and it was presented in 2007 at the New Spaces exhibition in Zurich, as an attraction to impress the visitors.

I’m not sure if all of them were impressed by its look, but I’m sure all the animal rights people and all the environmentalists were…but not in a good way.

World’s Cheapest Car From India

The Tata Nano is a rear-engined, five-passenger city car built by Tata Motors, aimed primarily at the Indian market. It was first presented at the 9th annual Auto Expo on 10 January 2008, at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, India.
Tata Motors will begin sales of the car in July 2009, as the company targets motorcycle buyers wanting to trade up to four wheels.
When launched in March 2009 the Nano was priced at 1,23,000 Rupees, cheaper than the Maruti 800, its main competitor and next cheapest Indian car priced at 1,84,641 Rupees. It also had an 8 percent smaller exterior size and a 23 percent larger interior space. Tata had sought to produce the least expensive production car in the world — aiming for a starting price of Rs.1,00,000 (approximately US$2,000 in March 2009).

Tata Motors commercially launched Nano on March 23, 2009, with bookings from April 9 to April 25.
In early 2008 the news magazine Newsweek identified the Nano as a part of a “new breed of 21st-century cars” that embody “a contrarian philosophy of smaller, lighter, cheaper” and portend a new era in inexpensive personal transportation — and potentially, “global gridlock”. The Wall Street Journal confirmed a global trend toward small cars, which includes the Nano.
The prefix “nano-” derives from the Greek root ‘nanos’, meaning dwarf. “Nano” also means “small” in Gujarati founders of the Tata Group.

World’s Smallest Car

It might not be exactly up-to standards design-wise, but the Peel P50 is the perfect car on a crowded street.

Only 50 cars were prodused and sold between 1963 and 1964, but only 20 are still around today. The original price was 200 pounds, but today you can’t buy one of these micro-cars with less than 35,000 to 50,000 pounds.

The three-wheeled car has only one door on the left side, one windscreen wiper and one headlight. At 134 cm in length and 99 cm in width, the Peel P50 mini-car was designed to accomodate one adult and a shopping bag.

You might not be able to ride in a micro-machine like the P50, but you will be able to observe one up close, at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, in London.
