From Hell..

All these incidents were serial murder cases done by human faced devils..Attentive pediatric nurse, suffering from bizarre Munchausen by Proxy syndrome, maims and murders many babies before the hospital understands the problem.

Within two months, she attacked nine children and murdered four. Yet to the suffering families, she was an angel of mercy, someone who was always available for their needs. How could a person be so caring and so demented at the same time?

These conditions belong to the group known as factitious disorders, which are characterized by physical or psychological symptoms that are feigned, exaggerated, or self-induced. It’s not common to find both in the same person, but the core motivation—getting attention through illness—is common to both.

After a trial that lasted nearly two months (and in which the defendant attended only 16 days due to illness), on May 23, 1993, Allitt was convicted and given 13 life sentences for murder and attempted murder. It was the harshest sentence ever given to a woman.

Frank and Elizabeth’s second child, Joseph D. Ball, was born on Jan. 7, 1896.  Throughout his childhood Joe kept to himself and rarely participated in activities with other children, preferring to spend his time outdoors fishing and exploring. He was known around town as a creepy guy.

A partner in Joe’s bar for a while. She lost her arm in a car accident, and then disappeared. Police were led to the area where she had been dismembered and buried by Clifton Wheeler, Ball’s handyman.

Also known as ‘Schatzie’ was a barmaid at Joe Ball’s bar. Her body was disposed of by Ball and Wheeler three miles from town, and Wheeler led investigators to the site.

This gentle-looking, benevolent grandfather cleverly lured children to their death, then devised recipes to eat them. This cannibal model for Hannibal Lecter is a study in criminal psychology and a true enigma. His wife thought him to be a wonderful husband and his children believed him to be a model father. What inner torments caused him to drive many spikes into his pelvis and tell people that he looked forward to his execution?

From  a letter to one of the victims mother from the murderer,

” My dear Mrs. Budd,
…..First he killed the 11 year old boy, because he had the fattest ass and of course the most meat on it.  Every part of his body was Cooked and eaten except the head — bones and guts.  He was Roasted in the oven (all of his ass), boiled, broiled, fried and stewed.  The little boy was next, went the same way.  At that time, I was living at 409 E 100 st., near — right side.  He told me so often how good Human flesh was I made up my mind to taste it…”

Fish confided in Dr. Wertham a long history of preying on children — “at least a hundred.”  Fish would bribe them with money or candy.  He usually chose African-American children because he believed that the police did not pay much attention when they were hurt or missing.

Fish thanked the judge for his sentence of death by electrocution. On January 16, 1936, Albert Fish was executed.
